Andrew Lichtenberger's Biography

Andrew Lichtenberger first started playing at 18 while attending Stony Brook University in New York. After just a single semester, he discovered that his interest in poker far outweighed his interest in pursuing college and he decided to leave Stony Brook to focus full-time on his poker career.

His decision paid off as he soon started working his way up to playing nosebleed stakes for both NL Hold’em and Pot-Limit Omaha. Before long, he would test his ability in the live poker arena and would find success there as well.

His first major final table was the Heartland Poker Tour Main Event at the NY Fall Poker Classic in 2008. His 5th place finish would springboard him into a breakout year in 2009.

Andrew made headlines in April 2009 when he finished 13th in the $25,000 World Poker Tour Championship event. He then parlayed that success into a successful 2009 World Series of Poker.

After three modest cashes, Andrew finished runner-up in the $5,000 NL Hold’em Event. The $215,402 paled to what he would do a couple of weeks later. He entered the 2009 WSOP Main Event and went on an epic run that resulted in an 18th place finish and a $500,557 payday.

His first major live tournament win came in 2010 after taking down the WSOP Circuit Main Event at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. He followed that up in 2011 by winning a EPT preliminary event, finishing 4th at the WPT World Poker Classic, and finishing runner up in the now defunct Epic Poker League Event 3 Main Event.

Most recently, Andrew had a solid 2013 WSOP. He finished with five cashes, including an 18th place finish in the One Drop High Roller event. At present he sits with $3.26 Million in live tournament earnings.

Prior to becoming a household name on the live tournament circuit, “luckychewy” was crushing the online game. He has over $1.9 million in online tournament earnings.

His largest online score came in 2009 when he won the $2,600 Heads-Up NL Event of the Spring Championship of Online Poker. The victory earned him his first major online poker title and $172,800 in prize money.

Recently, Andrew has begun his own path to self-realization. He uses a combination of healthy diet and meditation to try and improve himself both as a person and to become a better poker player.
