Victor Vermeulen's Biography
Victor Vermeulen began playing poker at the age of 16. He and his buddies spent most of their breaks and lunch periods playing poker and it was there that Victor developed a love for the game.
In his early days, Victor admits that he was "a big fish", but his play did improve via a combination of practice and study at online forums. When he turned 18, he began to play online and primarily focused on freerolls while building his bankroll. He never "turned pro" so to speak and considered poker a major hobby of his.
In time, Victor was playing as high as $100 NL, but his focus shifted earlier this year when demands from college started to interfere with his poker play. Making a wise decision, he took some time off from poker to finish up his degree in Economics and Finance.
Victor finished up over the summer and is now working on rebuilding his bankroll. He is currently a low stakes cash game specialist and hopes to work his way back up to $100 NL and beyond soon. Victor notes that he has never had to make a deposit online and has always played with freeroll money.
Victor brings his love of the game and for teaching to Ivey League. He has spent a good portion of the last five years teaching math, economics and physics to youth and still teaches on occasion. He has also coached several aspiring poker players in the past and many have enjoyed success online.
Becoming a coach on Ivey League was a "snap call" according to Victor. He is excited for the opportunity and looks forward to helping players learn the basics of becoming a winning poker player.
